CELEBRATING 17 YEARS!

Welcome

This year's Martha's Vineyard International Film Festival, our 17th, is a cinematic celebration of World Cinema. The films we've gathered for you show bold imagery, creative storylines, and unique characters, that will wrap your in warm cinematic magic.

The MVIFF is a culminating highlight of our island's culture-packed summer season. Each September we gather the best new films from dozens of countries, films that provide a path to bridging our cultural differences and exploring universal human experiences.

All films will be screened at the "Best of the Vineyard" Martha's Vineyard Film Center, located in the Tisbury Marketplace on Beach Road. We open the festival with our "Spotlight" screenings: these two films, showing on September 6th and 7th at 7:30 pm, respectively.

Don't miss our annual Short Film showcase, 10 shorts chosen from over 250 submissions from around the world.

The "godfather of animation", Bill Plympton is back with his weird wild world of hand-crafted animation shorts.

Full Film Program available soon.

OPENING & CLOSING NIGHT GALAS are planned again, please scroll down.

Our official OPENING NIGHT, Thursday, September 8th, will feature TBD playing at the Film Center. The film will be preceded by our Opening Night Tented Party on the lawn of the Tisbury Marketplace.

Enjoy meeting fellow festival attendees and special guests inside a tented reception, from 5:30-7:30 PM, on the beautiful waterfront lawn adjacent to Lagoon Pond, just off Beach Road at the Tisbury Marketplace. This year Goldie's Rotisserie Truck will provide yummy appetizers and buffet, and will be serving prosecco, wine, beer, and soft drinks while the wonderful Jeremy Berlin jazz quartet performs under the tent.

Our entire film program available shortly.

We hope you, our patrons and members, found this newsletter a glimpse into our continued efforts to fulfill our mission and enliven our Island’s cultural arts scene.
