Memory Care Kits and Care Partner Support Project

Bridgewater, CT - December 30, 2023

Burnham Library, Bridgewater, CT - Burnham Library is thrilled to announce the launch of a new initiative aimed at fostering inclusivity and support for individuals living with dementia and their families. This initiative, proudly presented as the Memory Care Kits and Care Partner Support Project, has been made possible through a generous grant from the Connecticut Community Foundation.

Libraries are welcoming spaces that can play a significant role in creating an inclusive environment for those living navigating dementia. Burnham Library is supporting this effort by offering a curated collection of memory care-related titles, hosting educational sessions, and introducing Memory Care Kits.

The primary objectives of this program are to enhance interactions between individuals experiencing memory loss and their care partners, as well as to connect care partners with essential services and resources.

We invite you to explore this initiative, attend our upcoming events, and take advantage of the resources available at Burnham Library.

Upcoming Events:

Saturday, January 27, 1:00 – 2:00 pm AARP: Caregiver Roadshow A conversation designed specifically for family care partners to gain insight and tools to navigate and connect to available resources.

Saturday, February 10, 2:00 – 3:00 pm The Bruce Museum: Lifetime of Looking An art appreciation program for adults with memory loss and their care partners.

Saturday, March 2, 2:00 – 3:00 pm Connecticut Museum of Culture and History: Reflections: Growing Up An interactive, conversation-based program using images, music, and hands-on objects to promote conversations about childhood.
