The Main Reading Room will close at 5:00pm to set up for Meetings with Remarkable Mushroom Hunters with David Arora. The Main Reading Room will reopen at 6:00pm just for the program. The Tech Center will be closed.

The rest of the Library will remain open. The Creekside Room will open for Teens studying for exams.

Embrace the spirit of the season as we come together to revel in the longest night and welcome the return of the sun and a beloved celebration historically held at Druid Heights and Muir Woods. Delight in engaging activities, perfect for all ages, as we honor this special time of year. Whether you're crafting, listening to stories, participating in the Yule log ceremony, enjoying music, or strolling beneath the towering redwoods, our Winter Solstice event promises an evening of joy, connection, and the celebration of cherished local traditions.

As part of the celebration, we have planned NPS ranger-led walks in the redwoods. To enhance your experience, we recommend bringing a flashlight to fully participate in these guided walks. Registration is required. Click here to register.
