It's a bit ahead for all of us, but the library will be closed Tuesday, July 4th in honor of Independence day. Stop in before that to get any books, movies, or games you might need, and (if you miss us), check out our E-Resources page to see all the Library resources available 24/7 from anywhere!

Programs

Come one, come all! If you missed it, we're hosting Circus Minimus: One-Man Circus-in-a-Suitcase! Join us for this acclaimed, interactive performance and prepared to be wowed! Our circus will be held on Thursday, June 22nd at 11am in the Courtyard - weather permitting. In the case of rain or extreme heat we will be in the Roche Bros Community Room.

No registration required! Recommended for Children Ages 4-10, all ages welcome! This program has been generously funded by the Friends of the Millis Public Library 

We're pleased to announce the next batch of Friday Movies! Join us almost every week at 1pm for a new or classic film in the Roche Bros room. Light refreshments will be provided courtesy of the Friends of the Millis Library.

June 23rd - "Till" (2022) PG-13 2hrs 10mins

The story of Emmett Louis Till and the legacy of his mother who pursued justice for her lynched son.

June 30th - "A Little Chaos" (2014) R 1hr 52 mins

Gifted architect Sabine de Barra is hired to design a section of the elaborate landscaping at the Palace of Versailles for Louis XIV. The job brings with it gender and class barriers, and she also must contend with renowned landscaper André Le Notre, with whom she develops both a professional and romantic relationship.

July 7th - "Jerry and Marge Go Large" (2022) PG-13 1hr 36min

The remarkable true story of how retiree Jerry Selbee discovers a mathematical loophole in the Massachusetts lottery. With the help of his wife, Marge, wins $27 million dollars and uses the money to revive their small Michigan town.

July 14th - "Moving On" (2022) R 1hr 25min

Claire (Lily Tomlin) and Evelyn (Jane Fonda) used to be great friends but saw their relationship dwindle over the years. When they reconnect at a friend's funeral, they unite over a mutual hatred for the widower. When Claire mentions that she is going to kill him, she captures Evelyn's attention, and the duo begins to plot the unlikely murder.

July 21st - "Supercell" (2023) PG-13 1 hr 40mins

Bill Brody was killed by a super tornado. When his son William finds a package of his father's journals, he decides to run away and join his dad's old team. Unfortunately, it is now run as a tourist attraction operated by Zane Rogers, who sees an opportunity to increase business using William. But his greed leads an expedition into the heart of the most dangerous supercell ever seen.

July 28th - "The Covenant" (2023) R 2hrs 3mins

John Kinley, a sergeant in the United States Army, embarks on his final tour of duty in Afghanistan after years of serving his country. Yet his last quest proves ill-fated as he suffers a substantial injury at the hands of his enemy. It is then up to his partner, a local interpreter named Ahmed, to deliver John to safety while crossing the treacherous, war-torn Afghan landscape.

Millis Memory Cafe is back! Come spend the morning with us~

A memory café is a welcoming place for individuals and families living with memory changes. This café event will feature guest performer, Tom Madden, time for conversation, as well as coffee and refreshments.

Our next Memory Café will be held the on Monday, June 26th from 10:30 AM to 12 Noon in the Roche Brothers Community Room. All are welcome and there is no cost to attend.

LEGO Kits are coming back! Join us each Monday throughout the summer, starting June 26th at 5pm to build one. We have a large and growing collection, and builders are invited to try them out first come, first serve.  Recommended for kids ages 5-12, all ages welcome!

*We made sure this program leaves plenty of time to build, but please note if you are not done at the end with your kit at the end of the program, you will have to leave it unfinished.

Join us for live music with Stacey Peasley's Children's Concert!  We're hosting the acclaimed local children's musician on Friday, June 30th at 10:30am, and welcome you to come enjoy energetic beats, catchy melodies, and soaring vocals with her! Recommended for children ages 2-8, all ages welcome.

The concert will be held in the Library Courtyard, weather permitting. Rain or high temperatures will bring us indoors to the community room. Generously funded by the Friends of the Millis Public Library.

Join us for the return of Sensory Bottles! We'll be making them again on Friday, July 7th at 6:30pm, and would love to have you! This quick and easy craft will have you mesmerized and the finished product is a quick and easy way to relax after! Shake them up and when you're done see how long it takes for everything to settle.

Recommended for grades 6th-8th. Register here to claim your supplies.

Mike Piazza and his Flying High Dogs are almost here! Join us on Wednesday, July 12th at 3:30pm in the library courtyard for an all ages show featuring this perennial favorite. Mike Piazza and his super fast, 4-legged, frisbee-catching companions will be putting on an amazing show for you and showing exactly how high they can go. No registration required, but come early to secure a great seat!
