Are you ready?
The Book Sale is this weekend! Friday from 6-8pm will be the Friends Only preview sale, Saturday from 9am -1pm will be the general sale, and Sunday from 1-3pm will be the $5 bag sale. We look forward to seeing you there and hope you uncover some amazing finds

If you'd like to become a Friend of the Library and get early access to the sale (as well as support the library) you can join here. If you'd like to help out in general, the Friends are looking for volunteers to help set up, work, and break down for the sale. If you have any availability for the times below and would like to offer your assistance, email the Friends here.

Book donations will not be accepted until early November to give the Friends a chance to set up and recover from the sale. We thank you for your understanding.

Calling all board game enthusiasts -- our next Board Game Night for Adults is coming! Mark your calendars for Thursday, October 20th at 6pm, as well as the third Thursday of each month, to play your favorite games, learn new games, and meet new board game buddies in the community!

We will provide different featured games each month and welcome gamers of all levels. Feel free to bring in your favorite game to teach as well!

Please register here so we get a sense of how many games we will need!

Contact Kim via email or by calling 508-376-8282 with any questions.

Millis Memory Cafe is coming back! Come spend the morning with us on Monday, October 24th starting at 10:30am.

A memory café is a welcoming place for individuals and families living with memory changes. Each café event will feature a guest artist or performer, time for conversation, as well as coffee and refreshments.

Millis Memory Café will generally be held the 4th Monday of each month from 10:30 AM to 12 Noon in the Roche Brothers Community Room. All are welcome and there is no cost to attend.

Are you ready to explore your own backyard but off the beaten path? Then join authors Heather Kapplow & Kim Windyka for a presentation on their book, "111 Places in Boston That You Must Not Miss" on Thursday, October 27th at 1pm!

Faneuil Hall is fine and the duck boats are just dandy, but if you want to go beyond the Boston of brochures and get to the heart of this mysterious, charming old metropolis, you have to dig deep and be willing to get a little weird. 111 Places in Boston That You Must Not Miss is a guidebook with a twist: one that takes you far off the beaten path -- and the Freedom Trail -- to explore a side of the city that's offbeat, unexpected, and completely fascinating for visitors and locals alike. Whether you want to pay your respects at the memorial for a fictional character, sneak behind a vending machine to go shopping for sneakers, sip cocktails where hardened criminals sat behind bars, or hang out with some life-sized puppets, you can do it all here...and before dinnertime to boot. Throw on your Red Sox cap, hop on the T, and uncover some secrets along the way. Register here to get the link to this virtual program!

Join us for a Halloween Costume Party at the library on Thursday, October 27th at 5:30pm!  Show off your costumes, play games, do crafts, get your face painted, and more! We'll have snacks and activities for everyone! We recommend this party for children ages 3-10, but all are welcome to come join the fun.

The party is a joint project with the Millis Public Library and the Millis SEPAC, and is generously funded by the Friends of the Millis Public Library.

Join us to create your own squash-based masterpiece! We're Painting Pumpkins on Friday, October 28th at 6:30pm and want to invite any and all kids between 6th and 8th grade! Draw faces, paint bats, go wild, and then take home your masterpieces~
Registration is required so we know how many pumpkins we'll need, so be sure to sign up here!
