Two great performances will be at Mosesian Arts this weekend. Much is happening in our Visual Arts Department too! Read on for news about comedy, music, exhibitions, and arts education!

THE IVY LEAGUE OF COMEDY | OCTOBER 7

Need a laugh? The Ivy League of Comedy is the premier group of stand-up comedians touring America. You’ve heard their brilliant comedic voices on late-night TV and Comedy Central. Now come see them live on stage!

A Boston native, Jon Fisch has appeared on Colbert, on NBC's Last Comic Standing, at the HBO Comedy Arts Festival, the Great American Comedy Festival, and Montreal's prestigious Just for Laughs Festival. Karen Bergreen is a self-described dictatorial mother of two, a New York Times and O Magazine recommended author, and says she does standup just to get out of the house. Host Shaun Eli has been featured on Netflix and in the New York Times.

THE AFRO-SEMITIC EXPERIENCE | OCTOBER 8

Co-founded by African American jazz pianist Warren Byrd, and Jewish American jazz bassist David Chevan in 1998, The Afro-Semitic Experience combines an eclectic array of styles, sophisticated musicianship, good songwriting, deep grooves, and years of friendship with a simple message: Unity in the Community. Their music has been heard around the United States — in concert halls, at festivals, in churches, synagogues, colleges, and wherever people come together to share love and respect for community.

With their unique instrumentation, solid grooves, and their ability to get an audience on its feet, The Afro-Semitic Experience has reimagined the jazz concert. This is a band beyond category — performing an intricate tapestry of spiritual, world-beat, funk, jazz, cantorial, gospel, salsa, swing, soul-driven music.
