We can help, this journey is not easy.
Diagnosing mental illness isn’t a straightforward science. We can’t test for it the same way we can test blood sugar levels for diabetes. Each condition has its own set of unique symptoms, though symptoms often overlap. Register for our Family Support Group to learn more. You will be able to share your concerns with people with lived experience - You are not alone.

We discuss: Major Depression, Borderline Personality Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Manic Depression, Schizophrenia and Schizoaffective Disorder, Panic Disorder and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Co-occurring Brain Disorders and Addictive Disorders, Consider taking a semester off from college - we have a lot to talk about!

NAMI Family Support Group is a peer-led support group for family members, caregivers and loved ones of individuals living with a mental illness. Gain insight from the challenges and successes of others facing similar circumstances. Join our hybrid Support Group 6 - 7:30 PM on designated Wednesdays of each month. All are welcome to this free support group.

"In an instant, our family's world shifted as my sister's grades plummeted, and she withdrew from friends, consumed by a pervasive feeling of constant scrutiny. Our parents, struggled to fathom her struggles, hoping she'd simply "snap out of it." Confusion reigned during countless hospital visits until, at last, a diagnosis of schizophrenia brought tears that blended relief with fear.

Overwhelmed and scared, we grappled with the unknown, unsure of where to turn. A mental health disorder was uncharted territory for our family, a topic never discussed. We began searching the web and we found NAMICCNY's Family Support Group, a lifeline that unraveled the confusion.

Support Groups

NAMICCNY brought a glimmer of hope to our previously darkened path. My sister, now on a stabilizing journey, we sought to give back.
Volunteering for NAMICCNY became our way of paying forward the support that had rescued us.

Through this process, we came to realized that mental illness does not need to shatter families or dreams; it merely alters the journey.

In the end, NAMI not only saved our family but inspired my family to become beacons of hope for others navigating similar storms. The understanding that we are not alone and that there is hope reshaped our narrative from one of despair to a story of resilience and triumph!"
