Landscape Architecture and Design

Greenwich resident Fred Landman acquired a handsome Georgian Revival house and grounds in 1994. Deeply committed to the concept of harmony between house and garden, he has dedicated himself to the landscape to create "a garden of which the house could be proud”. ”Sleepy Cat Farm: A Gardener's Journey” is an illustrated tour of this lavish estate in Greenwich, Connecticut.

Printmaking: Bringing Historic Processes to the Present
An Exhibition of Work from the Center for Contemporary Printmaking Fall 2023 – Winter 2024. From prehistoric hand stencils to present-day technology, the Center for Contemporary Printmaking presents a brief history of printmaking and printing processes with an exhibition of work from their archives spanning 60 years.

New Canaan Library, Stand Together Against Racism (S.T.A.R.) and the New England Academy of Dance (NEAD), present a screening of Misty Copeland’s short episodic film, Flower. Christina Johnson, Principal Dancer for Dance Theatre of Harlem and Complexions, plays the role of Misty’s mother and will be featured in the Q&A after the film. Then enjoy a dance premiere by NEAD, created and choreographed by Ginna Ortiz to reflect the themes of Ms. Copeland's film . Register Here>>

Show your creativity at New Canaan’s favorite pumpkin carving contest! Pumpkins are $35 and prizes will be awarded for Best in Show for Children, Teens, and Adults, Funniest, and Scariest Jack-o-Lanterns. Reserve your pumpkin! All proceeds benefit the Children’s Reading Room and Programming.

Printmaking with Artist Pei-Hsuan Wu for Grades 6-12

Explore an eco-friendly printmaking technique with visiting artist Pei-Hsuan Wu. This workshop will use tetra pak--a material used in food packaging--for our printing plate. The artist will introduce printmaking techniques such as intaglio and collograph before we dive into making our own prints. We will use a printing press to create prints of our final plates.
