ASL Storytime

Monday, August 7 at 10:30am

Join Mosesian Center for the Arts ASL interpreter and teaching artist Arlene Velleman for a fun and interactive storytime!

Ages: 4 and up

Find Your Voice: Science for 3-6 year olds

Monday, August 7 at 2pm

Join us every Monday until August 7 as we celebrate this year's summer reading theme "Find Your Voice" with different activities. For the final week we will be experimenting with static electricity! 

Ages: 3-6

Wake-Up Sunshine Storytime

Tuesday, August 8 at 10am & 11am in the Children's Program Room

Thursday, August 10 at 10am & 11am in Druker Auditorium

Start your day with stories, songs and rhymes led by Newton Free Library children’s librarians. 

Ages: 0-2

Irish Dance Performance

Tuesday, August 8 at 2pm

Come see The O’Shea Chaplin Academy of Irish Dance perform their reels and jigs! The performance lasts 15-20 minutes, and then children from the audience will be invited to learn some steps! 

Ages: 4 and up

Dance Me a Story: LIVE at Hyde Bandstand

Tuesday, August 8 at 4:30pm

This concert will take place at the Hyde Bandstand and Playground. In case of inclement weather it will be moved indoors to the library. Please check the Library's event calendar the morning of August 8 to confirm the location of the concert.

The Joanne Langione Dance Center brings us this fun, family event where music, movement and literature align to encourage exploration and imaginative play!

You Got the Beat

Tuesday, August 8 at 6pm

Join us to learn a short dance routine! Each week will include warm ups and a new routine to a popular song.

Matt Heaton: LIVE at Hyde Bandstand

Wednesday, August 9 at 10:30am

Reader’s Theater

Wednesday, August 9 at 2pm  

Join fellow future actors and actresses in putting on mini plays based on well known folk tales.
