December Main Hall and Gallery Art Shows

Impressions Across Time:

Shuk Susan Lee, Main Hall - "Inspired by music, dance, legends, people and cultures that I have experienced in my travels, I created a series that portrays figures in a variety of urban, natural and occasionally surrealistic settings. This exhibition presents my interpretation of these memorable moments captured across time and cultures. Each artwork weaves its own narrative, connecting the figures with their environment like a tapestry. My goal is to engage my audience through personal storytelling, as I believe that artwork must go beyond technique and touch the viewer's heart."

Newton award-winning pastelist, Shuk Susan Lee, has been featured in the National Arts Club and American Art Collector magazine. A juried member of the International Guild of Realism, Salmagundi Club, and Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, she also has achieved “IAPS/ Master Circle” and Signature status in nine pastel societies.

Art of the Automobile by Steve Edson

Steve Edson, Gallery - Cars are a catalyst for many people’s earliest memories: from romantic dinner dates to trips to the store and adventures driving locally or cross-country. Vehicles are used for pleasure, for commercial purposes and for some, the sheer thrill and enjoyment of racing to be the first to cross the finish line in the shortest amount of time.

Steve Edson’s car photography illustrates the exquisite precision of bent metal and chrome that conform to a designer's vision for the efficiencies of aerodynamics combined with the beauty of timeless style. Within this series, he uses his camera to highlight and celebrate the industrial nature of car design both in its abstract form, and the transformation cars undergo in different lighting and environmental atmospheric conditions.

January Main Hall and Gallery Art Shows

The Dewey Decimal Project

Boston Modern Quilt Guild, The Dewey Decimal Project, Main Hall - The Boston Modern Quilt Guild was formed in 2010 by greater Boston area quilters interested in the emerging modern quilting  movement. Members span all skill levels from novice to expert and have had their work exhibited locally and nationally in both juried and non-juried shows, magazines, journals and books.

The Dewey Decimal Project began as a guild challenge to sew mini-quilts inspired by the Dewey Decimal Classification system. Participating guild members chose a numeric/subject range then designed and created 18” x 22” quilts illustrating that classification range. The combination of structure and freedom of expression made for a perfect guild project;  accommodating all skill levels and a wide range of techniques.

Threads Gallery Art Show

Marija Draskic Brancazio, Threads, Gallery - Traveling across continents has taught me to find connections between the mythic imagery and storytelling of various cultures. Visual storytelling is a way for me to connect threads between my country (Serbia), countries I touched while growing up and the one I currently live in (USA). I am most interested in traditional crafts, mythology and feminine representation in various cultures. I often work with a fluorescent acrylic medium that becomes visible under black light, which allows for my paintings to come to life in an interactive process of exploration by the observer.

Marija Draskic Brancazio spent most of her early twenties living in postwar Serbia and arrived to the USA in 2015. She started painting in 2018 and since then, she has had many exhibitions, the last one being Let There be Light in Galatea Fine Art Gallery in Boston.
