Real F.R.I.E.N.D.S by Jamaal Eversley, Gallery, May 2 – 30

For over two and half years, at the height of the pandemic, Jamaal Eversley worked with some of his dearest artist friends. Together they sought to create something bold, beautiful, and ultimately hopeful; despite enduring lockdowns, times of isolation and a shattering division this country hasn’t seen in over 150 years. Real F.R.I.E.N.D.S. is the result of that process. It shows viewers that a successful collaborative process, among a diverse and committed group of artists, strengthens communal bonds and can generate dynamic, out-of-the-box creations. For Jamaal became a journey of a lifetime.

Mixing It Up – Printing, Drawing, Collage by Ann Miller, Main Hall, May 2 - 30

This exhibit is an adventure into combining different methods and media. The pieces started as screen or gelatin-plate prints or collages, which became foundation layers. Ann Miller built on them with drawing or painting materials, sometimes adding, sometimes erasing back to the foundation. Ann’s process is experimental and exploratory, building systems in space based on finding new marks and relationships as she goes. She loved how the pacing, colors, moods, and discoveries of each method fed the others.
