Water Protection Rights and Spirituality:

Tuesday, October 18 at 6:30pm 

Join us as we honor Indigenous Peoples Day at a special program that will open with traditional Danza and prayer, and will be followed by a panel discussion on Water Protection Rights. The participants will be Hiawatha Brown (Narragansett Elder), Liz Santana-Kiser (Nipmuc Elder) Kasike Jorge Estevez (Taino) and Robert Quesada (Mexika/Aztec). 

In Person Programs Return!

Commedia dell’Arte and Renaissance Music Demonstration Thursday, October 20 at 7pm.

 Chiara Durazzini, artistic director and co-founder of the Commedia dell’Arte troupe Pazzi Lazzi, will talk about the history and characteristics of Commedia dell’Arte through its iconography and show some physicality typical of its characters. Italian Commedia is considered the first professional theatre in the Western world, in fact in Medieval terms, the word “arte” means “craft”, therefore implying performances by professional actors. 

Google Sheets for Beginners: Tuesday, October 18 at 10am. Join us for this introductory session on Google Sheets. The class will cover creating a Google account, (if you don't already have one), as well as the most important features and functions of Google Sheets. Spooky Fun Halloween Paper Crafting: Wednesday, October 19 at 7pm. It's spooky season! Join us for a fun, virtual paper crafting session to create a cute Halloween project. Display it on your windowsill and spook away all the ghosts and Ghoulies! 

Find Happiness through Mindfulness, Meditation and Yoga: Thursday, October 20 at 7:15pm. Experience ancient practices of breathing and meditation in an informal virtual setting. Discover secrets to increasing happiness in everyday life and learn ways to make it grow each day. No previous experience required. Sessions are led by mindfulness, yoga and meditation teacher, Janhavi Wadwhani.

Solo Piano Performance with Kamilla Kakhkharova Bendersky (Live!): Sunday, October 23 at 2pm. Join Kamilla Kakhkharova Bendersky for a solo piano performance of:

Watergate at 50 -- The Burglary That Changed the Nation: Thursday, October 27 at 7pm. Join Daniel Breen, a Senior Lecturer in Legal Studies at Brandeis University, and a recipient of the Louis Brandeis Award for Excellence in Teaching, for a talk on what has been called, "The Scandal that Never Goes Away," – the break-in at the Democratic headquarters at the Watergate Hotel.

Light Reflections by Dan Dyer, Gallery: The show includes several series that reflect Dyer’s interest in capturing the character of light. Shadow Studies explore the beauty of tree shadows in a variety of lighting conditions. Gray Light Studies, captures the many shades of gray present in low lighting conditions. Sepia Series, reflects Dan’s observations of people interacting with the landscape through sepia-toned value studies. And finally, there are several local landmarks observed in the warm glow of a winter evening. Contact: [email protected]

Cloudscapes of Bullough’s Pond by Ellen Foust, Main Hall: Ellen Foust is an artist and photographer with a passion for teaching. Her bold, graphical compositions explore the interaction of light and clouds on Bullough's Pond in Newton, MA. She teaches iPhone photography at the Brandeis Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (BOLLI) and at the Lexington Arts and Crafts Society (LexArt).
