The Family Roe: An American Story, with Joshua Prager: Monday, September 19 at 7pm. Join Investigative Journalist Joshua Prager for a talk on his deeply researched book, The Family Roe: An American Story. Named a finalist for the 2022 Pulitzer Prize, The Family Roe, offers extraordinary insight into the Supreme Court’s most divisive case (Roe v. Wade) and its plaintiff, Norma McCorvey. Tiziana Dearing, host of Radio Boston, will be our moderator.

Common Scams to Watch Out For: Thursday, September 22 at 11am. Learn about common types of phone and digital scams, how to identify them and how to make sure you don’t fall victim to them. In 2021, over 59 million Americans lost money to phone scams alone! Join us to equip yourself with tips that will help keep you safe from scammers! 

Plant Swap: Saturday, September 24 at 2pm. Have a houseplant that you no longer need and wish to trade, or do you want to share cuttings from some of your plants? Drop by our Plant Swap to meet fellow plant enthusiasts and find the perfect new plant for your home. Please check the program listing for specifics on how to participate.

Google Docs for Beginners: Tuesday, September 27 at 10am. Join us for this introductory session on Google Docs. The class will cover creating a Google account as well as the most important features and functions of Google Docs.

Watercolor Silhouettes: Thursday, September 29 at 3pm. Create a stunning watercolor silhouette and learn how to personalize your portrait. Beginners and all levels welcome. 

Night of the Living Rez by Morgan Talty: Thursday, September 29 at 7pm. Join Morgan Talty for a talk on his highly anticipated short story collection, Night of the Living Rez. Set in a Native community in Maine, this riveting debut compilation reveals what it means to be Penobscot in the twenty-first.

View original works by Newton Art Association (NAA) members including drawing, painting and fiber arts. The show will be on view in the Gallery, Main Hall and Main Hall display cases.

NAA will award $900 in prizes to show participants. This year's awards judge will be Presley Ackeret, Gallery Assistant at the Beacon Gallery, Boston.
