Hack Club for Grades 9-12

Anderson MakerLab

Students in grades 9-12 are invited to join Hack Club, meeting monthly on Saturdays. At this first meeting, we will explore basic Python by developing a program that will cover the essential, fundamental elements of programming. This will allow us to start building a good foundation for future meetings and discuss what we would like to explore.

Please bring your own laptop if you are able. A limited number of library laptops will be available for use. We will be using Repl.it,  a browser-based coding environment. If you do not already have an account, you can create a free one prior to our first meeting.

Inspiration Points: F1 Racing Meets Spool Racers for Ages 8-12

We will start this class with a presentation from Michael on his experiences with Formula One Racing and discuss the basics of aerodynamics and simple machines. We will then take what we've learned as inspiration for building our own spool racers that we will race at the end of class! This class is co-taught by teen volunteer Michael and Librarian Laura. For ages 8-12.
