Social Justice Book Group at YMCA (Hybrid) for Grades 5-8

Our Social Justice Book Group is reading Ban This Book by Alan Gratz this month. Tweens and teens in grades 5-8, join us to discuss the book, make some new friends, and brainstorm ways that you can make real, positive changes in your community. All are welcome. Leaders from LiveGirl, S.T.A.R, and New Canaan Library will be on hand to guide the discussion and to help you transform ideas into actions. MORE>>

My Change Counts!
Runs through Nov. 15

We’re excited to invite kids of all ages to support the building of our NEW Library! The “My Change Counts” project will run through November 15.

Join us in collecting change for the NEW New Canaan Library’s children’s, tween, and teen spaces that are coming to our community in early 2023!

Here’s how it works:
Pick Up Your Can: Pick up your collection can in the Children’s Library during open library hours!
Save Your Change: Collect as many coins and as much change as you can to support the NEW Library!
Drop Off Your Coins: You can drop off your coins in the Children’s Library any time over the course of the project!
Collect Your Stickers: When you drop off coins, you’ll earn fun stickers!
Show Your Support: This project is open to all. Any small amount helps support our incredible NEW library coming in 2023!

ArtScapades Presents: Mythology in Art – From Circe to Zeus

Mythology has been a theme in art through the years. In this lecture ArtScapades will look at the works of celebrated artists over time who have included mythological themes and figures in their work. We’re building the New New Canaan Library! Our current library building remains open and operational, but our onsite parking lot is now largely closed. A limited number of accessible and short-term parking spots remain. Free Library parking is available in designated spots in the Center School Lot, accessible from South Avenue.
