Family Weekend event tickets and parking information

Dear Parent,

On the Family Weekend website, you will find information on events, ticketing, and parking. Not all the events are listed below, so keep checking the website for the most up to date information!

-Tickets: Most Family Weekend events are FREE. Tickets for 3 events and football games can be purchased via the online ticket office and in person. There are single event tickets available, or you can purchase a ticket package, which includes all 3 of the paid events.

-Parking: FREE parking passes can be downloaded from the Family Weekend website to display on your dashboard. Parking for the weekend will be in the North Commuter Lot (P-13) behind Cline Library, and the South Commuter Lot (P-62) near the intersection of E. McConnell Dr. and E. Pine Knoll Dr.

-Shuttle Services: FREE Family Weekend shuttle services will be provided to help you and your family get around campus in a breeze!

Family Weekend events

First Stop for Family Weekend 

We will be kicking off Family Weekend on the University Union’s West Lawn on Friday, October 7 from 10am-6pm and Saturday, October 8 from 9am-1pm. Here, you and your family will be able to pick up tickets, receive a schedule of events, and grab a Family Weekend button! Also, our wonderful Parent and Family Services staff will be available and eager to answer any questions that you may have!

Family Weekend Casino Night
Friday, October 7: 7pm-10pm
du Bois South Union (Building 64)
Tickets required
Come try your luck at the Family Weekend Casino Night! NAU’s School of Hotel and Restaurant Management (HRM) will be hosting the 29th annual Casino Night! Casino Night has been and continues to be a night to give HRM students real experience putting together and executing an event while also raising money for student scholarships. There will be a raffle, silent auction, and various games, such as Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Texas Hold-em, Pai Gow, Let-it-Ride, and BINGO.  

Family Weekend Magic with Derek Hughes
Friday, October 7: 7:30pm-9:30pm (doors open at 6:30pm)
Prochnow Auditorium

Abracadabra! Come experience a night of magic for all ages! Derek Hughes was a finalist on America's Got Talent, has appeared on Ellen, Comedy Central, and VH1, and has severed as a consulting producer on TRUtv's hit magic series "The Carbonaro Effect!"

Family Weekend 5K
Saturday, October 8: 7am (Registration at 6am)
Lumberjack Stadium
FREE
On your marks. Get set. GO! Join other Lumberjack families and their furry friends as we engage in a friendly competition! You can choose to run, walk, or jog the course. Registration will begin at 6:30am, or you can choose to pre-register online. After the race is over, cool down with a relaxing cool down stretch. 

Fall Festival
Saturday, October 8: 10:30am-1pm
University Union West Lawn
FREE
The Fall Festival will have something available for all ages, and everyone is welcome! This year will include:

-27ft inflatable slide

-Corn maze

-Obstacle course

-Axe throwing

-3-in-1 sports ball toss

-Yard games

-Pumpkin painting

-Carnival food (cotton candy, popcorn, and snow cones)

Family Weekend Block Party (BBQ)

Saturday, October 8: 10:30am-1pm
P-16 (Parking lot between Cline Library and the Fieldhouse)

We hope you’re hungry! Join us for lunch this Family Weekend, where we will be serving an array of delicious foods, including vegetarian options! This year we will be serving:

-Hamburgers, veggie burgers, hot dogs

-Nachos with your choice of chicken machaca, carne asada or black beans

-BBQ cones! Filled with either chicken, shredded beef, or jackfruit

-Elote with toppings

-Ice cream 

-Pepsi beverages and water

NAU students with a meal plan may use a meal swipe or dining dollars for admission and guests will need to purchase a ticket ahead of time. 

NAU Lumberjacks VS. Cal Poly Mustangs
Saturday, October 8: 1pm
Walkup Skydome
Tickets Required
Cheer on your Lumberjacks this Family Weekend as they face off against the Cal Poly Mustangs! Tailgating will begin at 10am and kick-off is at 1pm. If you want your Lumberjack to sit with you at the game, they must also purchase a ticket. This game has been sold out in the past, so don't miss out and grab your tickets now! The clear bag policy is still in effect. Learn more about it at nau.edu/clear-bag-policy

Lumberjack Wake Up Walk
Sunday, October 9: 8am-9:30am
Skydome Lot
FREE
Join Shannon Clark, Assistant Dean of Students, and the Student Affairs staff on a social walk around the south campus. The walk will take place rain or shine, so dress for the weather and bring a water bottle!

Family Weekend Brunch
Sunday, October 9: 10am
du Bois Center (DUB)
Tickets required
Let there be brunch! To finish off Family Weekend, join us for a delicious brunch in the du Bois Center (The DUB) with your Lumberjack. NAU students with a meal plan may use a meal swipe or dining dollars for admission, and guests will need to purchase a ticket ahead of time.
