Oregon Center for Contemporary Art : Celebrate Juneteenth by supporting Black voices

Arts and Entertainment

June 20, 2022

From: Oregon Center for Contemporary Art

This Juneteenth weekend we are supporting Black voices by donating 50% of all Shop Ox sales to the Big Yard Foundation and 100% of sales of prints of Arvie Smith's Still We Rise mural to Imagine Black.

Still We Rise is the digital print version of Arvie Smith's monumental public mural on the corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd and NE Alberta Street that honors the Northeast Portland community and its rich African American history. All proceeds from the sale of this work will be donated to Imagine Black, which helps Portland’s Black community imagine the alternatives we deserve, builds our political participation, and supports leadership to achieve those alternatives.

50% of sales from all other Shop Ox items will go to The Big Yard Foundation which supports community empowerment, lessens neighborhood tensions, and combats community deterioration through initiatives of education, creativity, and wellness development.

Visit Shop Ox online or in person this weekend to support these organizations and Black arts and culture.
