Memos from the Mansion…

“Spring reminds us of the tiny magic seeded in ice back then, breaking hard ground with tender bud to bloom in the presence of adversity and joy alike.”
 -Margaret Renkl

Dear Ventfort Hall Family,

If we’ve yet to meet, I am Chelsea Gaia, the new Director of Programming & Events and I am so honored to welcome you to a year brimming with potential and exciting updates!

Spring's renewal mirrors our own at Ventfort Hall, as we embark on both physical restoration and a deeper commitment to our community. As I wander the halls, I'm moved by the myriad untold stories lost and echoing through time - the lives and memories of those who have shaped this estate beyond the visible legacy. It's a powerful reminder that we, too, are shaping the future of this historic gem. Together, we are not just custodians of its past but architects of its narrative, charged with infusing our chapters with meaning and inclusivity.

This epiphany inspired our theme for our 2024 Season:

Reviving the Spirit of Festival House
This theme honors the groundbreaking work of Bruno Aron and his family in the 1950s, who transformed Ventfort Hall into an inclusive, welcoming space for all, regardless of background or belief. The Arons' vision turned Ventfort Hall into a vibrant cultural hub, challenging and changing the Berkshires' social landscape. This year, we're drawing from that spirit of inclusivity and diversity, promising a lineup of events that celebrates previously obscured pieces of our shared history.

Our season’s programming (to be announced the week of March 25th!) will feature an engaging exhibit on diverse stories of Berkshire Baseball, a captivating concert series, and (of course!) our renowned Tea & Talk series, all designed to offer fresh perspectives and celebrate the diverse voices that have contributed to our history. …A little birdie told me our July 30th Tea & Talk speaker will be a New York Times Best Selling Author…

While we’re reviving and renewing around here, we’re also refreshing and revamping our visual brand identity and digital platform. You’ll notice we have a new logo! Additionally, our website is currently under construction for the month of March to enhance your Ventfort Hall experience. These updates reflect our commitment to making Ventfort Hall a place where history is not only preserved but also made accessible and relevant to all.

Your unwavering support and enthusiasm have been the cornerstone of our journey thus far. As we embark on this exciting new chapter, I admit I am filled with gratitude and anticipation for the shared moments and milestones ahead.
I’ll see you at Festival House this summer!
