Summer is in Full Swing!

Have you checked out an item at the Library? Did you get your scratch ticket at checkout? That's right. Scratch off to see if you an an instant winner of a free book, free puzzle, free tote bag or something from our Treasure Cart. Otherwise enter your ticket to try to win 1 of 6 prizes given away on August 19. Gift cards to Tasty's , An Unlikely Story, and 2 free Climbs from TreeTop Adventures.

And for the Kids...

Don't worry - it's not too late to register for summer reading. Come on by and register your kids (ages 6-12) to get your reading chain and tag to start collecting your Read and Beads. For every 15 minutes of reading you earn 1 bead. Trade up to get different cool beads!

Kids ages 5 and under can participate too. When they register they get an activity sheet. Complete 20 or more activities on a sheet and get a prize. There are 4 different sheets this summer for you to do.

Special Genre Book Sales in July & August

Our Summer Book Sale will be held during normal library hours in the conference room. Prices range from 50 cents to $1. Library discards will be included. Cash only.
July 18-22 - Fiction & Classics
July 25-29 - Suspense & Mystery
August 1-5 - Romance, Horror, Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Young Adults
August 8-12 - Non-Fiction

There will be a $5 bag sale on the last day of each sale June 24, July 22 & 29, August 5 & 12. DVDs and CDs will also be included.

Summer Concert Series - Come to Telford Park for a night of family music fun! - A concert each month for the 3 months of Summer 2022 July's concert features: TOE JAM PUPPET BAND !!
Toe Jam Puppet Band are Tom and Vinnie and they put on a great show that is exciting and interactive with children that grown ups will enjoy too! This program made possible with support form the Plainville office of the Massachusetts Cultural Council and the Friends of the Plainville Public Library.

Wed. 7/13 @ 6:00pm - Animal Adventure Show
Join us for a cool animal show presented by Animal Adventures. This program is appropriate for families. Drop in to the Community Room at Plainville Town Hall. This program made possible with support from the Plainville office of the Massachusetts Cultural Council and the Friends of the Plainville Public Library.

Wed. 7/20 @ 6:00pm Make a cool bug craft
Join us for some fun kid crafts in the Children's Room. This program is appropriate for families. Drop in to the Children's Room.

Wed. 7/27 @ 6:00pm Ukulele Lessons with Don Rovero
Register for some Ukulele fun with Don Rovero. This program is appropriate ages 8 - 12. Maximum 12 participants. Program will take place in the Community Room at the Plainville Town Hall.

Wednesday July 20 - Homeschool approaches to Education

Please join us as we have Roberta Van Vlack back again for another amazing and informational program supporting homeschool families!

This program will help you develop your educational philosophy as you navigate your curriculum planning for the upccoming school year.

If you are already a homeschooler and have old curricula you would be willing to offer to other homschool families there will be time after the presentation to share and/or swap curricula with other attendees.

This program is free and open to all who are interested. No registration is required, this is a drop in program.

Library Fun in the Sun Event List

Find the right program at the right time with our handy list of events happening in our area libraries. Our Library Fun in the Sun list features events in Mansfield, Attleboro, Foxboro, Norfolk, Wrentham, and of course right here in Plainville.
