Plein Air Exhibition On View Through December 30 atthe Memphis Botanic Garden

The Memphis Botanic Garden (MBG) is pleased to announce the Plein Air Exhibition is now on view through December 30, in their Visitors Center. This fall MBG invited artists and artists-at-heart to capture their favorite Garden scenes, including hosting guest artists on select Sundays in September & October to offer tips and techniques for capturing en plein air. The call for entry for the exhibition was open to all skill levels and age ranges, including children.

The Plein Air Exhibition showcases diverse visual works of a wide range of Garden glimpses from over 30 different artists. In honor of MBG’s seasonal exhibition, Alice’s Adventures at the Garden, which was open May through October of this year, works depicting the mosaiculture pieces were encouraged. Viewers will enjoy these at-times whimsical interpretations of these larger-than-life sculptures alongside iconic Garden landmarks. The variety of mediums and artistic styles throughout the works offers a myriad of perspectives that capture the spirit and essence of the natural world. The special youth category shows that even the young find artistic inspiration from nature.

Participating Artists: Amy Wu ONeill, Ann Brown Thomason, Barrie Foster, Bob McCabe, Calvin Banks, Carolyn Moss, Connie Lampen, Erica Ross, Gopal Murti, Jacque’ Sligh, James W Crews, Jan Carnall, Jana Jones, Jeannine Paul, Jenny Hobbs, Jenny Powell Miller, Jourdan Artis, Katrina Leggett, Kelly Mayberry, Kemuel Owens, Lane Warren, Lori Young, Lynn Weinberg, Matthew Lee, Michael Allen, Paula Crocker, Phyllis Boger, S.
