Science on Screen

Wednesday, 2/22 6:30pm

A talk about the science.

Then, a movie.

When birds attack, survival becomes the priority.

Throughout history, birds have been humans' prey, partners, pests, and passions. The Birds is a 1963 horror film that focuses on a series of sudden and unexplained violent bird attacks on the people of Bodega Bay, California over the course of a few days.

Pre Film Talk at 6:30pm with Dr. Matthew Kamm, of Zoo New England!

Dr. Matthew Kamm will provide information about the historical "bird frenzy," that inspired the creation of the film, and the ever-changing relationships between birds and humans throughout time.

Dr. Matthew Kamm is a bird researcher and is the current Conservation Outreach Coordinator at Zoo New England, a non-profit organization that provides education, research, and conservation programming to the community in Stoneham, Massachusetts
