The Navarre Beach ADA accessible kayak launch located in front of the Red Drum Pavilion in the Navarre Beach Marine Park on the sound side has reopened after undergoing repairs following Hurricane Sally.

"It's great to have this kayak launch open again," said Commissioner Dave Piech, District 4. "I appreciate the persistence of our staff and for them staying committed to see these repairs through to the end. It's so important for us to provide recreational opportunities for people of all abilities."

The kayak launch first opened in April 2019 as part of the Navarre Beach sound side improvement project that included ADA-accessible boardwalks connecting to the existing parking/pavilion areas on the east and west ends of the sound side recreation areas, signage to alert kayakers and paddle boarders to avoid shoreline habitats and an additional acre of planted dune vegetation.
