Recycling services suspended while ECUA repairs facility

Recycling services in Santa Rosa County continue to be temporarily suspended. The Emerald Coast Utility Authority (ECUA) Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) has temporarily closed due to equipment malfunctions and supply chain issues related to repair parts. As a result, the MRF will not be able to receive recycling materials until further notice. Due to the temporary closure of the MRF, Waste Pro (franchised waste hauler for the county) recycling services will continue to be suspended until the facility reopens.

ECUA's latest update projects the recycling facility reopening in early September. Citizens will be notified when recycling services resume.

Those who subscribe to Waste Pro’s recycling services are asked not to place recycling items into their blue bin. Please place recycling items with regular trash in the gray container. Do not place recycling containers at the curb as it will not be collected during this time. Waste Pro will update customers when available. Waste Pro customers WILL receive a credit on their next billing cycle. Waste Pro customers can call 850-365-1900, for more information.

Residents who utilize non-franchised haulers are encouraged to reach out to them regarding any changes in their recycling collections.
