STORY SUMMARY

Seventeen-year-old Julie wants to be captain of the color guard, and Julie ALWAYS gets what she wants. The only problem? McKayla, a well liked but unassuming junior on the team has been chosen for the role. Now it’s up to Annika, the team’s resident screw-up, to make sure the girls don’t murder each other. Is all of this worth a plastic trophy and a chance to go down in northeast color guard history? Yeah. Kind of.

ROLE WE ARE SEEKING TO CAST

Alexis - Freshman in High School. Cute and capable, but still a bit immature. She is innocent and naive, and she falls for an older boy (Ryan, a womanizer) on the same Color Guard team. There are kissing scenes and implied sex (we will have an adult coach for this). This is not a large role so it should be easy for someone to memorize. However it does involve learning how to work a Color Guard flag - along with the rest of the team. Ideally we would have an 18 year old play the part, if they could pass as a high school Freshman. But we would consider younger, with parental approval (due to the sensitive material).

Note: This role was cast, but due to a recently discovered scheduling conflict (HS Prom), she could not perform during the second weekend. Thus we've decided to recast this role, to allow the new cast member to perform both weekends.

There is also a Flag rehearsal starting at 6pm on Sunday as well - thus if you're cast, it would be great for you to stay.

STRONG LANGUAGE & SENSITIVE SITUATIONS

Although this is a comedy/drama, the subject matter includes scenes implying alcohol and marijuana use, sexuality and strong language. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must sign a permission form to audition and/or perform. All roles are open to all auditionees regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, gender identity and expression. Both parent and high school roles will be expected to perform basic Color Guard moves with pole/flag, with training from Color Guard Choreographer.

REHEARSAL LOCATION

REMAINING REHEARSAL SCHEDULE

- Advanced flag training on Saturday March 30th 10am-3pm [mandatory for both moms and guard team]

- Standard rehearsals will be Monday March 4th THROUGH Friday May 3rd and will generally be three (3) days a week from 7:00pm till 10:00pm weeknights; weekend times vary but may be earlier TBD.

- Tech Week will be Sunday May 5th (4pm-10pm) & Monday May 6th through Thursday May 9th (7pm-10pm).

- Additional rehearsals may be scheduled to accommodate conflicts or other rehearsal needs as performances draw closer.
