Volunteers needed for new Friends of the Library Bookstore
Have you ever dreamed of working in a cozy local bookstore? We’re currently recruiting volunteers to staff our Friends of the Library Bookstore, soon to open at the Shrewsbury Public Library! This volunteer role will begin the week of September 19th and continue throughout the year. Initially, we’d like to have the Bookstore staffed from 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. Monday–Saturday and we’re looking for volunteers who can commit to a regular weekly schedule of at least one day per week. Volunteers must be organized, dependable, and interested in interacting with library patrons as they browse the shop and purchase materials. Training will be provided by library staff and Friends of the Library Board members.

Prospective volunteers must have the ability to push carts filled with books, lift boxes of books, stock shelves by bending and stretching, climb on step stools, and stand for a length of time. They will be expected to maintain inventory, file books according to genre, and handle cash sales.
