Performance dates run February 10th through February 19th 2020

All auditioners must provide a current resume/headshot and properly marked sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. Prepare 32 bars of a musical theatre selection in the style of the show. Do not sing from the show. Auditioners should be prepared to read/sing from the show. A dance routine will be taught. Sign up for an appointment at the provided link. Virtual submissions can be sent to [email protected] and will be accepted until Sunday, October 2nd. Include your audition form, 32 bars in the style of the show, short dance reel, and current resume/headshot.

The creative team is seeking performers of all ethnicities, genders, and body types to portray the following roles:

Charity Hope Valentine: Must Read 30s+, Strong Actress/Dancer, Alto-Mezzo (E3-C#5)

The eternal optimist and eponymous heroine is a taxi-dancer at the Fandango Ballroom. A gullible girl next door who comically finds herself in and out of love’s strangest situations.

Helene: Must Read 30s+, Strong Actress/Dancer, Mezzo (F3-C#5)

A seasoned dancer at the Fandango Ballroom and one of Charity’s closest confidants. She is sassy and very confident. Will Double.

Nickie: Must Read 30s+, Strong Actress/Dancer, Mezzo (F3-C#5)

A seasoned dancer at the Fandango Ballroom who looks out for Charity’s best interests despite her blunt and sarcastic tone. Will Double.

Vittorio Vidal: Must Read 30s+, Strong Actor/Singer, Bari-Tenor (Bb2-G4)

Italian movie star in a spat with his lover, Ursula March. Takes Charity to a club out of spite but finds himself charmed with her. Will double.

Oscar Lundquist: Must Read Late 30s+, Strong Actor/Singer, Bari-Tenor (B2-Gb4)

Neurotic, claustrophobic actuary who falls in love with Charity after their meeting in a stuck elevator. Will Double.

Herman: Must Read 30s+, Strong Actor/Singer, Tenor (E3-B4)

Owner of the Fandango. He’s crude but has a soft spot for his veteran dancers. Will Double.

Daddy Brubeck: Must Read 30s+, Strong Singer/Actor, Baritone (C3-E4)

An enigmatic leader of the Rhythm of Life Church. Will Double.

Ursula March: Must Read Late 20s+, Strong Actress/Singer

Emphatic starlet in a spat with her lover, Vittorio. Will Double.
