The joy of early New Orleans-style jazz is at the heart of this scholastic combo festival, which is dedicated to fostering a better appreciation of this classic American art form.

Each year, scores of young musicians gather at the annual Teagarden Jazz Festival (formerly named Traditional Jazz Youth Band Festival) for experiences that take their musical skills to the next level.

8:00 am: Band Performances begin in Capistrano Concert Hall (CCH) & Rm 143

11:45 am: BTU Arts presents, Sacramento Brass Collective Parade (all invited to play) starts in campus atrium

Lunch Break - Pizza Service Begins Complimentary pizza meals/beverages for band directors and student musicians…

12:30 pm: Jazz 'N' Pizza Jam: in Rm 143 hosted by the Clinicians Band - Directors and students are invited to play.

1:30 pm: Band Performances Resume

4:30 pm: Jazz Workshop in CCH featuring guest Adrian Cunningham: on reeds,

There Ain't No Wrong Notes in Jazz.

5:15 pm: Announcement of Encore Bands in Capistrano Concert Hall.
5:20 pm: Middle School
5:30 pm: High School (Jazz Club/ Private)

6:00 pm: Festival Clinicians Concert in CCH with Professor Cunningham

6:45 pm: Announcement of Awards & All-Play Closing with Festival Clinicians
