Pembroke Pines, FL (May 26, 2022)  – Pembroke Pines children ages 15 years and younger are invited to register and get their wristband for the Thirteenth Annual Mayor’s Kids’ Day event hosted by Pembroke Pines Mayor Frank C. Ortis beginning June 1, 2022 at noon.  Mayor’s Kids’ Day will be held on Friday June 17, 2022.  Children 15 years of age and younger that are Pembroke Pines residents, pre-registered and wearing the official Mayor’s Kids’ Day wristband will have an opportunity to search for deals and free items from local businesses located throughout the city from noon until the business closes.  Some of the things children might find include free bowling, swimming, haircuts, ice cream, mini golf, cookies, breakfast and much more.  Pembroke Pines businesses will also offer discounts on purchases, food samples and raffles.  Each year, more than 1,000 children throughout the City of Pembroke Pines engage in Mayor’s Kids’ Day.  

Mayor Frank C. Ortis will host a fun filled brunch for the children and there will be activities between 10 am and noon at the Charles F. Dodge City Center, located at 601 City Center Way.   Children can visit with both fire and police personnel, as well as mascots representing several businesses throughout the city. Other new activities and surprises are also planned for this year’s event. 

Pre-registration for Pembroke Pines children only is required and wristbands are free.  Wristbands will be available at BrightStar Credit Union (12405 Taft Street Lobby Hours); Pembroke Lakes Tennis (10500 Taft Street Monday-Friday 8 am to 8 pm and Saturday/Sunday 8 am to 5 pm); City Center (601 City Center Way Monday - Thursday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm; and at TownGate and Price Park (visit city website for times).  Proof of residency must be shown when registering.
