Return To Avaloch

July 9th marks the beginning of our 2022 season and we couldn’t be more excited!  In true Great Lakes Medieval Faire style, there will be artisans, there will be faeries, there will be turkey legs and there will be merriment and music.  Don’t dally and don’t be Fopdoodle - come join us!!  All First responders receive half-off tickets at the gate – but we encourage everyone else to purchase tickets in advance to avoid the lines!

Wizards, Fairies, and Mythological Beasts

The veil between realms has lifted. The world of the mundane is now open to all manner of wondrous creatures to roam. Now is the time to join us and embrace your inner elf, fairy, or dragon!

-Best Evil Queen or Fairytale Villain Costume Contest
-Bubble Magic Competition: Compete against other Bubble-Mancers in crafting and controlling the wonder of the bubble.

Wonders of the World and Toga Party

Grab your toga and your sandals for a weekend of exploration and experience the wonders of the ancient world. You’ll find family fun and adventure are around every corner – and every tree!

July 23 - 24, 2022

Steampunk and Time Travel Escapade

Arrive by airship, train, or rocket-powered bicycle, as you travel through time and the line between science and fantasy blurs. Dress as your favorite historical or fantasy character. Wear your clocks and cogs, fancy hats, and dresses while you browse the many craft shops for unique gifts and souvenirs.

Special Events:

-Heroes and Villains Out of Time Costume Contest
-The Adventuring Party: Bring your team (Adventuring party or Away Team) for a timed skill-based event where teams compete to complete a mission

July 30 - 31, 2022

Pirate Invasion and Swashbuckling Adventures

Argh, ye maties, princes, and scallywags! There’s no walking the plank if ye get to the faire. Pirate music, fire-eaters, sword fighting, and lots of raucous fun await during the Pirate Invasion! Your treasure awaits in Avaloch.

Special Events:

-Best Pirate Drunken Swagger contest: Show us your skills as you walk the plank and display your best drunken swagger.
-Where did the rum go? Pirate scavenger hunt.

August 6 - 7, 2022

Celtic Celebration and Music Fest

Bonnie Lasses and handsome lads, show us your kilt! The games will be strong and the food and entertainment will be even stronger. Dig back to the land of the Green Isles and Braveheart. Sing and dance to the songs of Scotland and Ireland.

Special Events:

-Best Drinking Toast: Bring your best (PG) toast and share it with the crowd. Impress the judges and your peers to win a prize.
-Haggis Toss competition: Show us your Scottish skills with the traditional Haggis toss competition!

August 13 - 14, 2022

Super Heroes and The Land of Discovery

Not all heroes wear capes, but some do! And they’ll be at the faire this weekend! Don your cape and cowl and save Avaloch from dastardly villains…or join them!

Special Events:

-Best Superhero pose and catchphrase contest: Bring your best hero pose, and witty catchphrase, and impress your peers with your Super Skills!
-Superhero “Sidekick” Audition: Join us and compete in a test of skill against other would-be sidekicks for the prize of being chosen as the best sidekick in Avaloch.
