Theatre West : Your Lucky!

Arts and Entertainment

March 3, 2023

From: Theatre West

The extraordinary tale of the illustrious Mr. Kristoff’s last and most eccentric production featuring the William Desmond Taylor Players, a hostage audience, and his singular interpretation of theatrical history replete with digressions both ribald and remarkable.

Written by Michael Van Duzer

A theatre is about to be torn down and Mr. Kristoff is determined to produce his very personal hommage to the plays and players who shaped his life, all for a single clandestine performance. Mr. Kristoff's unabashedly gay lens starts with the Greeks and blows open every theatrical closet door, poking affectionate fun at  Shakespeare, Sheridan, Noel Coward, Tennessee Williams, Mart Crowley, and Terrence McNally, among others.

Yes longer than The Persecution and Assassination of Jean-Paul Marat as Performed by the Inmates of the Asylum of Charenton Under the Direction of the Marquis de Sade (aka Marat/Sade) by Peter Weiss....and certainly funnier.

"Lloyd J. Schwartz wrote the book (he also directed) and the music and lyrics for eight songs were provided by Hope and Laurence Juber. They are very aware of the age of their audience but don’t write down to them, instead they provide easy to understand dialogue and lyrics....The show runs a brisk hour.... The cast is animated and the creators have included a lot of audience participation moments for their energetic and excited young audience."

A comedy about an Italian family and a Canadian moose.

"I cannot tell a lie... Moose On The Loose is really funny and surprisingly moving! - Mel Brooks
