This Week at the Jones Library

It's cool at night, not as warm during the day, and leaves are starting to change color - it's fall in New England!  We've highlighted some upcoming programs for you below, and invite you to participate.  Visit our webpage to access our online resources and to find our complete calendar

In-Person Teen Dungeons & Dragons
Thursday, October 6 from 5:30 - 7:30 pm
In October and November, we'll meet weekly on Thursdays from 5:30 - 7:30 pm in the Woodbury Room to roll some dice and go on adventures! No experience is required and attending all sessions is not mandatory. This program is for ages 11 to 17. For more information and to register, please email [email protected].

Teen Lounge
Friday, October 7 from 3:30 - 5:00 pm
Stop by the Woodbury Room after school on Fridays for Teen Lounge! There will be crafts, games, shows, and good times. Come hang out with friends or make some new ones!  No reservation required. This program is for ages 11 - 17.

Graphic Novel Book Club
Graphic Novel Book Club is back! Join us on Tuesday, October 18th from 4 - 5 pm to discuss Snapdragon by Kat Leyh and make a fun art project together to go along with the book!  This program is for ages 9 - 12.

Little Pim Language Learning
The Jones Library is pleased to introduce a new language learning tool for babies, toddlers, and preschool aged children. Twelve different languages are introduced through short engaging video episodes. Explore Little Pim!

Ukulele Play Along

Save the date for our next Ukulele Play Along on Monday, October 17 at 7:00 pm.  We'll be focusing on 3 and 4 chord songs, with lyrics and chords provided on-screen.  Participants will be muted, so don't worry about how you sound.  Plan to join us via Zoom!

Upcoming Holiday Closing

The Jones Library and branches will be closed on Sunday, October 9 and Monday, October 10 in observance of Indigenous Peoples' Day.  Regular hours resume on Tuesday, October 11.

In addition, CW Mars will be performing a systems update between 7:00 pm on Sunday, October 9 until the afternoon of Monday, October 10.  The library catalog will be down, and it will not be possible to place holds.  It may also not be possible to download e-books/e-audios, use various databases, or watch Kanopy during this time. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
