JROTC Sock Donation- On Monday, Grimsley JROTC cadets will donate more than 1,200 pairs of socks to the Servant Center Inc. in Greensboro. Cadets surpassed their goal of collecting 500 socks for the annual drive, which was started by a former student three years ago. Cadets collected socks from community members and students at nearby schools. The event begins at 1:30 pm in the JROTC Classroom at Grimsley High School.

Thursday, January 12- Friday, January 13, 2023

Mario the Maker Magician – Mario the Maker Magician will visit Fairview Elementary for two days of fun and stem. Mario has been featured on Sesame Street, Universal Kids and HGTV and will engage students in the maker space process. The events will be held at 10:00 am and 1:00 pm on the 12th and 9:00 am on the 13th.

Choice Application Window Opens - GCS continues to improve programming and rebrand how we market choice school options in the district. GCS Choice Schools and Programs is a nationwide leader in providing innovative educational options for K-12 students and families. Every student deserves innovative educational choices that inspire and prepare them to create the world in which they want to live. Providing educational choices for all kinds of learners throughout the district gives each student a path that fits right, challenges appropriately, provides community and creates a foundation for success. the Choice Schools and Programs application window opens on Jan. 13. The window closes on Feb. 20. The GCS Choice Schools and Programs Showcase will be held at the Greensboro Coliseum Special Events Center on Feb. 1 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Linked is more information about our 2023 Choice Schools and Programs.
