Cheryl Pinkos (Town Clerk) and Nicole Tenreiro (Assistant Town Clerk) are among the fifth class of municipal leaders across the state to be recognized as Certified Connecticut Municipal Officials (CCMO). Both officials were awarded certificates at the 2022 CCMO Conference held at Mohegan Sun on Tuesday, November 1st.

Pinkos and Tenreiro completed 36 credits of continuing education to achieve this designation. CCMO training is intended to teach municipal leaders how to work collaboratively, solve problems, build partnerships, and work across political and organizational boundaries.

“Bridgewater Town Clerks Cheryl Pinkos and Nicole Tenreiro have completed their qualifications to become Certified CT Municipal Officers,” stated Bridgewater First Selectman Curtis Read.  “This award is an indication of their professional expertise and commitment to excellence in serving the people of Bridgewater. On behalf of our residents, I commend Cheryl and Nicole for their accomplishments.”

The Connecticut Conference of Municipalities encourages elected and appointed officials to utilize municipal training workshops, conferences, special meetings, and other educational opportunities to expand their knowledge and enhance important leadership skills.  Coursework is offered across three categories:  personal, organizational, and community development.  According to the CCMO website, “training sessions [are] led by associations, recognized experts and college faculty” and offer “experience and insight” needed to build skills for the municipal workplace.

Pinkos has been Bridgewater’s Town Clerk since 1995. Tenreiro has served as Assistant Town Clerk since 2017.
