Epic trail event, Castle Rock Trail Festival, takes over Philip S. Miller Park Oct. 1

Explore Castle Rock’s beautiful trails, participate in an epic event, and learn to liveBIG, and support a great cause at the Castle Rock Trail Festival Saturday, Oct. 1, at Philip S. Miller Park.

This athletic event has something for everyone – from ultra-distance runners to families with children ages 5-12. Don’t miss the opportunity to explore the trails at Philip S. Miller Park and Ridgeline Open Space. Or, make memories with the entire family winding through a variety of kid-friendly obstacles at the liveBIG Family Adventure Run.

The Castle Rock Trail Festival courses include:

- 50K (approximately 31.06 miles)

Race starts at 7:30 a.m.; finish line closes at 3:30 p.m.

- Half Marathon (approximately 13.1 miles)

Race starts at 8:30 a.m.

- 10K (approximately 6.2 miles)

Race starts at 9 a.m.

- 5K (approximately 3.1 miles)

Race starts at 9:30 a.m.

- Family Adventure Run (approximately 1.2 miles with family friendly obstacles)

Race starts at 10:30 a.m.

Race fees include a T-shirt, custom finisher medal, professional chip timing, free photo download following the event and post-race refreshments. More information, and registration, is available at CRgov.com/TrailFest.

The liveBIG race was created to help people share the outdoors with their friends and family while also exercising their bodies and minds. All proceeds from this event go to the Town’s Therapeutic Recreation Program.

The Town’s Therapeutic Recreation program supports members of the community, and their families, who have cognitive and physical disabilities and helps them live an active lifestyle. More information is available at CRgov.com/TherapeuticRec.
