GFOA Budget Award
For the eighth consecutive year, the Town was awarded the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its FY 2023 budget submission to the Government Finance Officers Association. Thank you to Interim Finance Director Paul Pasterczyk, and all the department heads for their efforts to provide the information required. A special thank you to Assistant Town Accountant Alicia Gonsalves for coordinating all the information and getting it ready in its final form before submission. A copy of the budget is available on the websitehere.

Special Fall Town Meeting
The Special fall Town Meeting was held on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at the Longmeadow High School. There were 346 registered voters in attendance. All 26 articles were approved in less than 3 hours. Electronic voting was used and the meeting visuals were significantly improved with the addition of 6 - 85” LCD TV screens to show both the vote counts and presentations. A huge thank you to the many volunteers, town and school staff and the Key Club students who helped make this meeting a success. The date for the Annual Town Meeting is May 9, 2023.

ADA Mats at Playgrounds
DPW and Site Specifics recently completed installation of ADA accessible mats at the three elementary playgrounds. These mats allow ADA access to the playground components. Further ADA efforts are in the works in the form of grant applications to the Massachusetts Office on Disability and potential Community Preservation Act Grants.
