Town Of Newbury - New Wetlands Bylaw Draft Amendment

Government and Politics

July 26, 2022

From: Town Of Newbury

A new draft amendment for the Newbury Wetlands bylaw has been posted. On the recommendation of Town Counsel, a "tow-part bylaw" version has been drafted. This is a proposed amendment that breaks the wetlands bylaw into two distinct parts. Part A covers Plum Island. This part was copied exactly as it currently stands and will not be changed. Part B covers inland wetlands - these are all other wetland areas except the Plum Island barrier beach.

Please note that this new version has not yet been reviewed by the Conservation Commission. It will be formally presented and discussed during the August 30, 2022 bylaw workshop. Prior to the workshop, the Commission encourages interested members of the public to review the new draft and provide any and all questions, comments, or concerns to the Conservation Agent. You are welcome to call or stop by the office to provide comments, but you are encouraged to also provide them in writing. Any letters or emails provided to the Agent will be passed on directly to the Commission members so they may review your comments without anything being lost in translation or missed.
