Town Officials Gathering Data on Fiber Optics Plan  

Town officials are in discussions with Frontier about implementation of fiber optic service in Norfolk, but no immediate decision is near. In addition, another public information session has been set to update residents on the gas spill cleanup.

Frontier, Town Discussing Fiber Optics Installation 

First Selectman Matt Riiska, Board of Finance Chairman Michael Sconyers and Northwest ConneCT President Kim Maxwell continue to work with Frontier to discuss fiber optic service for Norfolk. Read more

Gas Spill Information Meeting January 31 

There will be a third public information meeting Tuesday, January 31, at 7:00 p.m. to update progress being made on the cleanup following the November 5 gas spill on Route 44. The meeting will be held at Botelle Elementary School. Read more

COG Discuses Local Concerns 

The Northwest Hills Council of Governments held a breakfast meeting with area legislators Wednesday morning and aired local complaints and concerns.

“One of the things we discussed is Education Cost Sharing money,” said First Selectman Matt Riiska. Read more

Parents Reminded of School Rules 

School administrators have asked parents to review the school rules regarding chewing gum and cell phones with their children. Read more

Blood Pressure Clinic Wednesday 

The Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Litchfield County will hold a blood pressure clinic Wednesday from 10:45 to 11:30 a.m. at the Norfolk Hub. Additional clinics will be held March 22, May 24 and July 26 and are free. No appointment is necessary.

Teen Movie Night at Library 

The Teen Advisory Board of Norfolk Library has planned another Teen-only Movie Night double feature for January 20, from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. Programming includes “Knives Out,” followed by “Glass Onion.” Read more

Music Among Neighbors Features Hamlin 

Trina Hamlin will perform at the Norfolk Library Saturday, January 21, at 5:00 p.m. as part of the Music Among Neighbors series. Read more

Take Tea Sunday at Library 

The Norfolk Library will celebrate National Tea Month at 2:00 p.m. Sunday with a tea exchange and party. Read more

Celebrate Chinese New Year at Corner Club 

The Corner Club at  Norfolk Library will celebrate the Chinese New Year Wednesday after school , when Lu Li gives an acrobatic performance to celebrate the Year of the Rabbit. Read more

The Farmers Market Committee will hold a special meeting Tuesday at 5:00 p.m.

And Happening Next ... 

Art lovers will have plenty to cheer about next week when the Norfolk Library opens a new show by Caryn King Saturday, with a reception planned for her on Sunday. Down at the Norfolk Hub, another artist, Lilly Woodworth, whose show continues through February, will be feted at a reception earlier that afternoon.
