From: Town Of Prescott Valley

Apply to be the next Town Council member of Prescott Valley!

With the resignation on November 28, 2022 of Prescott Valley Town Council member Roger Kinsinger for family reasons, the Council will enter a process to appoint a new member, their responsibility by Town Ordinance.

The Town of Prescott Valley follows a council-manager form of government. This means that elected officials are responsible for making policy decisions on town matters while the town manager is responsible for carrying out those decisions. The mayor and council members also serve as the board of directors for several community facilities districts. The Town Council meets routinely at least three times per month for public meetings conducted in the evening in the Auditorium of the Prescott Valley Library. These meetings can be study sessions, regular council sessions and possibly executive sessions. The mayor and council members also attend other day and evening public meetings, hearings, and activities, and are assigned to various subcommittees. Council members are compensated $700 per month and qualify for health insurance benefits.

Citizens interested in serving on the Council may access the application on the Town website at https://www.prescottvalley-az.gov/1238/Town-Council-Application or by contacting the Town Clerk’s Office. The form is fillable and may be submitted online. Applications are due no later than 3:00 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2022.

Based on the applications, Council will select three of the most qualified candidates and invite them for a public interview on December 21, 2022. This Council term will expire in December 2024, at which time the incumbent may choose to run in an election for another term.

More information about the application process is available from the Town Clerk’s office at 759-3028 or 759-5512.
