Prescott Valley Town Manager Gilbert Davidson recently received the Credentialed Manager designation from ICMA, the International City/County Management Association. To receive the ICMA credential, a member must have significant experience as a senior management executive in local government; have earned a degree, preferably in public administration or a related field; and demonstrated a commitment to high standards of integrity and to lifelong learning and professional development.

Davidson is qualified by more than 20 years of professional local and state government executive experience. Prior to his joining Prescott Valley as Town Manager in August 2021, he served as City Manager of Willcox, Arizona; Deputy Town Manager and then Town Manager of Marana, Arizona; and Chief Operating Officer of the State of Arizona Governor’s Office. He also served as Senior Consultant/Owner of Davidson Strategic LLC/University of Arizona.

The former President of the Arizona City/County Management Association Board, Davidson also is a recipient of the Association’s (ACMA) highest honor, the John J. DeBolske Award, given to recognize city/county managers who demonstrate the highest level of professional excellence in local government and who have made life contributions in serving the profession.

Davidson has also made significant contributions to several other organizations, including the Arizona Commission on Appellate Court Appointments, the Board of Directors of Arizona Capital Source, and the Growth Partners Arizona Board. He is a member of the National Leadership Council for the University of Arizona Foundation.
