Town of Weston Covid-19 Public Health Updates for September 1, 2022

Government and Politics

September 2, 2022

From: Town Of Weston

The Federal Government COVID-19 Test Kit Program Will Be Suspended on September 2, 2022

If you haven’t ordered your household’s three sets of eight free at-home COVID tests from the federal government, do it now. The program will be “suspended” this Friday, September 2 as Congress has not authorized continued funding.

Your health insurance may continue to cover free tests via your local pharmacy, check with your insurer for details. In addition, the Board of Health has tests at Town Hall, the Council on Aging, and the Weston Public Library during business hours for anyone who lives, works, learns or visits Weston to pick up, while supplies last.

To help you stay well this fall and winter we advise:

-Staying up to date on your vaccines and boosters against COVID-19 and influenza
-Staying home when sick
-Keeping rapid antigen tests and well fitting masks on hand

If you test positive for COVID-19 visit www.Mass.gov/ISOL8 for complete instructions.  Visit  WestonMA.gov/health for local resources. Families with young children in preschool or K-12 school will find updated guidance, which differs slightly from the guidance for higher education and the general public, here.   Your school/program may choose to be more strict, but not less, in their ill-child/return to school policies.

Learn about free treatments for COVID-19 here or call your doctor to discuss your options.

The goal at this stage of the pandemic is to promote in person work/learning/living while preventing the spread of communicable disease like COVID-19 and flu.

Thank you for helping to keep Weston well!
