Homeschool (pre)Teen Series

Northwest Park invites homeschool students, ages 11-14, to join us in hands-on science and nature exploration! In this two hour drop-off program, students will be immersed in field based learning and encouraged to ask questions, seek answers and explore new ideas as they develop real world skills.

Energy and Weather: April 12, 2023 (9:30-11:30 AM)

What is work? Most people try to avoid it, but it is happening around us all the time. Learn about work being done in the natural world by looking closer at energy and its movement. Get hands on experimenting with light, heat and energy transfer to discover how the Sun is vital in powering our weather, and providing energy to all living things.

April Full Moon Hike

Come enjoy the beauty of the park, after dark!

Come out to Northwest Park for a guided Full Moon Hike on Wednesday, April 5 from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM. This month’s full moon is known as the Pink Moon for the pink blooms of the phlox flower found all over North America. Fee for this program is $12 person (Windsor resident) $16 per person (non-residents). Participants must preregister; space is limited.

Zumba Gold Daytime

The Windsor Senior Center is excited to announce that Zumba Gold has returned to our fitness line-up during the DAY every Wednesday from 12:00-1:00PM with the fabulous Tanya!

Cost for the month of March is $25.00 or you can register for a 10 class drop-in card for $60.00. These classes are open to anyone thriving beyond 55+, so if you are ready to let go with Latin beats, these sessions are not to be missed. Summer Teen Employment Program (S.T.E.P.)

Each summer the Windsor Youth Services Bureau employs local teenagers for their Summer Teen Employment Program (STEP), a seven-week paid internship. Interns participate in a minimum of 5-hours per week of training in the areas of personal mindset, communication, planning for success, and problem-solving. Teens are tasked with small building projects, landscape maintenance, and special assignments throughout town. STEP Applications are being accepted until Sunday, April 29.

Family Plant Night

Youth ages 5 and up and their parents/guardians will start by painting a 4” terra cotta pot. Once painting is complete families get their hands dirty with our interactive plant bar. Gardening together gives families a chance to spend quality time together and provides stress relief and relaxation. $5.00 per person and dinner will be provided. Register online or at the Youth Services Bureau Office located at the L.P. Wilson Community Center. 860-285-1946.

Summer Fun Camps strive to provide campers with the best possible summer camp experience in the summer. Our quality summer camp experience helps children develop healthy emotional and social skills to grow into confident, kind, strong young adults. Summer Fun Camps provide these impactful experiences through games, sports, activities, arts and crafts, swimming, wellness activities (yoga, reading, hikes, enrichment, etc.) FUN, and friends.
