This Years 2023 Vermont Splitboard Festival. The Vermont Splitboard Festival will be held at Middlebury Snowbowl. With a number of uphill routes to pick from there is an adventure waiting for everyone.

Split Fest Schedule:
9:00 a.m - 3:00 p.m: Demo Area open. SplitboardVT supplied guides available to take guests on routes
10:30 a.m, 12:00 p.m and 1:30 p.m: Vendor hosted educational clinics (splitboard 101, snow science, beacon use, how to cut skins, tips and tricks, mountain bindings, just to name a few)
3:00 p.m: SplitMo Race hosted by Burton
3:30 p.m: CTA Splitboard Raffle

Demos:
Demos will be available from 9:00 a.m - 3:00 p.m
Any guest with a CTA wrist band may demo equipment
This can be picked up on checking in at base camp
There will be 2 routes, both accessing beginner, intermediate, and advanced terrain
All demo gear Must stay on these two dedicated routes to control duration of equipment in use, to maximize opportunities for other guests

Day of Event Activities:
Throughout the day there will be regular uphill 101 courses, demos, various impromptu backcountry tours & clinics, a super fun uphill/downhill race, and a sweet raffle.

Demos: During the day a variety of boards and bindings will be available to try out from brands such as Burton, Cabin Mountain Tools, Spark R&D, Weston, Jones Snowboards, and Karakoram to name a few.

Middlebury Snowbowl Tour: On this tour SplitboardVT guides will lead small groups out on several of the pre-planned demo routes. The routes are designed to give you an opportunity to get acclimated to your splitboard’s on both the up and opportunity to enjoy the terrain at Middlebury Snowbowl on the down. The tours will depart from the demo area throughout the day with no set time so no need to rush about. For the tours plan to be out there for around 30min. All are welcome, and there is no cap on participation. With the brief instructional session, we will take you on a short tour around Snowbowl where you will get to see what it’s like to earn your turns. We will share some tips on setting up your board, how to skin up-hill, and provide you with some pointers to help you get the most out of your next uphill adventure.

Uphill/Downhill Race Course: Burton Snowboards will be organizing a fun and challenging race. Anyone and everyone is invited to come out. The final course won’t be revealed until the day of the event, but there will be uphill and downhill legs. We promise it will be ridiculous, heinous, challenging, and incredibly fun. The event will begin with a mass start, and hopefully everyone will participate. There will also be a special prize for the winners.

Raffle: A Huge Thank you to all our partners for contributions to the SplitboardVT raffle to finish off the day. We are stoked and thrilled to say that Weston and Burton have donated splitboards for the raffle. We’ll have three splitboards that you can win. The money raised by the raffle will go to support the activities of the Catamount Trail Association. Raffle tickets will be on sale at the event. Must be present to win.
