Kayak-A-Thon 2022

On June 18th 2022, Executive Director James Tracy is going to be raising funds for Water Street Studios by paddling down the Fox River, as far as humanly possible. As the Fox River has been inspiration for many artists, it is only fitting that we highlight the many fantastic pieces of art that showcase one of our greatest local natural resources. Please support the local art scene by contributing to our campaign!

James has a route planned for the upper Fox River by kayak. Starting in Algonquin, he'll paddle his way downriver, passing Carpentersville,  Elgin, St. Charles, Geneva, Batavia (home of Water Street Studios), Aurora, Montgomery, Oswego, and Yorkville. The idea is to paddle as many miles as possible as an endurance attempt, while raising funds for Water Street Studios. Along the way, we will highlight the many scenic points of interest that served as inspiration for local artwork. The day of the event, you'll be able to live track James's location to see how far he makes it downriver.
