Waterfall Arts : Paper And Glass

Arts and Entertainment

June 29, 2022

From: Waterfall Arts

Holy June – it's almost July!

We had a blast last weekend at Arts in the Park. Our Kids & Families and Program team, Bridget and Amy, helped folks paint to music at Steamboat Landing. They set up giant easels and got kids and adults painting to live music by the Pinwheel Brothers.

Check out these photos from the event before signing up for one of the three upcoming offerings below.

Paste Papering the Forest

Friday, July 1, from 10am - 12pm

Paste papering is like adult finger painting. It is a quick, wet, seemingly sloppy, but intentional method of decorating paper. It is a dance of choreographed steps and techniques, culminating in the papers you are hoping for–or ‘happy mistakes.’ Paste paper can be used for collage, bookmaking, card making and more! All skill levels welcome. The instructor for this workshop is the talented Maine-based book artist Joelle Webber!

Hungry Caterpillar Collage Party

Saturday, July 2, from 10am - 12pm

Who's in town this weekend? We will be celebrating our favorite children’s book illustrator, Eric Carle, and have a blast painting giant papers to use for collages! We’ll enjoy read-alouds of Eric Carle’s books while the paint dries. Then we get out scissors and glue. This workshop will take place outside, weather permitting!

Art Together Mornings are memorable workshops where adult and child create side-by-side. Parents learn ways to support creative thinking while enjoying their own process. Kids explore materials at their own pace while learning new skills.
