Now several months after the horrific 10/7 attack by the terrorist group Hamas on Israel, we still do not know where Jahana Hayes stands on this important issue.  

Does she stand with the radical Liberals in her party, who demand an unconditional ceasefire without the release of hostages? Or does she stand with Israel, America’s strongest ally in the Middle East?

From the very beginning, Hayes’ support for Israel has been extraordinarily unclear. On November 2nd, she voted against a military aid package for Israel. What does she have against helping one of our strongest allies to defend itself against a terrorist group?

In the wake of 10/7, Hayes has failed to denounce the antisemitism within her party. For example, Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) responded to the Hamas terror attack by lamenting “Palestinian and Israeli lives lost yesterday, today, and every day” and criticizing U.S. military assistance to Israel. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) accused a pro-Israel PAC of being an “extremist organization.” Hayes voted against censuring Tlaib, and did not condemn AOC’s inflammatory statement.

Then, a December report showed that Hayes accepted $19,300 in 2020 and 2022 from anti-Israel Democrats and their dark money groups.\

Also in December, Hayes met with the Connecticut chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). The founder and executive director of CAIR infamously praised the Hamas attack on Israel, proclaiming that he was “happy to see” it. After she was widely criticized, Hayes doubled down on her decision to meet with CAIR.  

To put the icing on the cake, on April 8, Hayes signed a letter alongside Jamaal Bowman, Cori Bush, Pramila Jayapal, AOC, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib to stop selling weapons to Israel. Make no mistake, stopping the sale of weapons to Israel would be the ultimate act of betrayal.

Despite her abysmal record on supporting Israel, Jahana Hayes has pushed back against criticism of her record on Israel. One day, Hayes stands with the Squad in their relentless pursuit to destroy the state of Israel and the next day she claims that she continues to “support Israel’s right to exist.”  

We are asking the same questions that voters from across the 5th Congressional District are asking: Where does Jahana Hayes stand? With Israel, or against Israel?
