Day 2 of the 2024 Wichita Jazz Festival welcomes back Mike Steinel and Rosana Eckert joined by the Delano Jazz Orchestra.
Jazz trumpeter Mike Steinel and jazz vocalist Rosana Eckert will join the stage with the Delano Jazz Orchestra, an 18 member jazz big band featuring some of Wichita’s finest jazz musicians. Get ready for an evening of jazz big band classics as well as contemporary compositions.

An Evening of Guitar with Stanley Jordan
Day 3 of the 2024 Wichita Jazz Festival we welcome the amazing solo guitarist Stanley Jordan!
Join us for an unforgettable evening as GRAMMY-nominated Stanley Jordan takes the stage, showcasing his mastery of the guitar and the revolutionary touch technique that has left a lasting mark on the world of music. Unlike conventional strumming and picking, Jordan's two-handed tapping creates fluid, multi-layered textures that redefine the boundaries of guitar performance.

Melissa Aldana with Wichita State University Jazz Arts 1 and the Mid-Kansas Jazz Band
Day 4 of the 2024 Wichita Jazz Festival welcomes tenor saxophone player Melissa Aldana playing with the Wichita State University Jazz Arts 1 and the Mid-Kansas Jazz Band!
Melissa Aldana is a GRAMMY-nominated saxophonist and composer tenor player from Santiago, Chile. She is based in Brooklyn, NY and has garnered international recognition for her visionary works as a band leader, as well as her deeply meditative interpretation of language and vocabulary. Melissa is also an in-demand clinician and educator and has recently been appointed to the faculty of the New England Conservatory’s Jazz Studies Department.
elissa will be joining the Wichita State University Jazz Arts 1 and the Mid-Kansas Jazz Band. Wichita Jazz Festival is proud of our partnership with Wichita State University’s Jazz Arts giving jazz students the opportunity to connect with some of the finest talents in the jazz world.

The Tierney Sutton Band
The final day of the 2024 Wichita Jazz Festival ends with a bang with The Tierney Sutton Band at Wichita Orpheum Theatre!
We are thrilled to welcome back 9-time Grammy-nominated jazz vocalist Tierney Sutton to the Wichita Jazz Festival!
With a recording and touring history spanning over 20 years and 9 CDs, The Tierney Sutton Band is known for their imaginative and groundbreaking treatments of well-known songs and received a Grammy nomination for “Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocals”, the first band ever to receive this honor. The Tierney Sutton Band is comprised of Sutton and instrumental virtuosos Clarence Penn, Trey Henry and Christian Jacob.
