Springside Farm is a very diversified family farm. For over 200 years, our family has been involved in commercial agriculture of some variety, primarily dairy, forage crops, and vegetables. Part of our current farm is still livestock-based. We raise dairy cattle, sheep, alpacas, chickens and livestock guardian dogs. We also produce all of the feed for our animals, which keeps us busy throughout the growing seasons. Our Shearing Festival, on Memorial Day weekend, highlights our alpacas and sheep, and gives the public a chance to visit the animals and have some fun. (See FESTIVALS & EVENTS) The major focus of Springside Farm now centers around our seasonal enterprises - Christmas trees, our Fall harvest events (which includes outdoor activities, pumpkins, several mazes including a corn maze), and hosting farm and country weddings (May through August). Springside Farm has a beautiful rural setting, yet we are only 12 miles from the Syracuse city limits.

While we open mid-September, we kick off our fall season with our annual Pig Roast on the last Sunday in September. We do not charge for parking or access to our gift shop and Luncheonette. A modest fee covers unlimited access to all of our activities. Please see our PUMPKINS & MAZES page for details. Occasionally outside vendors provide pony rides, face painting, and horse drawn wagon rides, all of which have their own additional charge.

During the Christmas season (Thanksgiving through Christmas Eve) we offer outstanding home-grown firs, and our own wreaths, greens and roping. Complimentary hot chocolate and coffee are available. We have a wonderful gift shop, filled with items from local artisans, seasonal decorations, local honey and maple syrup, specialty soaps, luxurious and practical alpaca clothing and socks, and our own yarns from our sheep and alpacas.

We have a full commercial kitchen, where we produce our own mouth-watering fudge, and make fantastic homemade donuts, apple fritters, handsliced fries, and other menu items to satisfy the hungriest customer. (We have healthy options on the menu too!)

Our farm is handicap and stroller accessible in all seasons, and dog friendly during Christmas. Regular bathrooms and changing area are provided for your convenience. We are available for school groups during the week, and also host birthday parties and group events during the warmer months. Please see the PARTIES page for more information.

Whether you're here about the alpacas, the Christmas trees, the Shearing Festival or any of our other endeavors, your inquiry is important to us. Please feel free to contact us by email or telephone.
