4-H Learning By Doing

Rick Godke, 4-H Youth Extension Agent

4-H is an educational organization for school-age youth that encourages learning through hands-on projects.  4-H is no longer just raising cows and pigs or canning and sewing.  Although we still have these projects, the possibilities now include arts, government, leadership development, marine science, public speaking, camping, consumer choices, sciences, and pets to name a few.  4-H is an educational group sponsored by the University of Florida and the United states Department of Agriculture and local clubs are organized by local volunteers.

All DuvalCounty children between the ages of 5 and 18 are welcome to join a 4-H Club.  DuvalCounty 4-H Club and The Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS) is an Equal Opportunity Institution authorized to provide research, educational information, and other services only to individuals and institutions that function with non-discrimination with respect to race, creed, color, religion, age, disability, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, national origin, political opinions, or affiliations.
