AFS Mission

AFS-USA works toward a more just and peaceful world by providing international and intercultural learning experiences to individuals, families, schools, and communities through a global volunteer partnership.

About AFS

AFS is a worldwide, nonprofit organization that has been leading international high school student exchange for more than 60 years. Each year, AFS-USA welcomes 2,500 international high school students who come to study in U.S. high schools and live with host families. More than 6,000 volunteers in the U.S. make the work of AFS possible.

AFS in our area

The East Metro Area Team is located in Minnesota and makes up one half of the Twin Cities covering its State Capitol (Saint Paul) and surrounding communities north, south and east of the States capitol city. Some of the communities we cover reach as far north of Saint Paul as the city of Braham, east of Saint Paul as the communities of Stillwater and Hudson Wisconsin to the south of Saint Paul and the communities of Red Wing and Hastings.
