Allen school was named after the late Judge Olney C. Allen. Judge Allen attended Aurora Public Schools and graduated from East High in 1900. He received his law degree from the University of Michigan in 1905 and was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1906.

Allen served as Kane County Judge from 1928-1950. His many cases were concerned mainly with delinquent and neglected children . He helped formulate the early adoption laws in the State of Illinois. In addition Allen served as president of the East Aurora Board of Education from 1933-1948. In 1947 Judge Allen was presented with the Cosmopolitan award as Aurora's Outstanding Citizen in point of community service. He was an able lawyer and conscientious judge, who knew that human values as well as legal technicalities must always be taken into consideration. He saw good in every man and strove for the reclamation of offenders whenever possible. Judge Allen was a good friend to all and his dedication to public service was deep seated.
